Role & Pay:

* Residential Childcare Worker

* £20,320.56 – £21,699.60 per annum (£10.02 – £10.70 per hour inclusive of 50p/£1.00 location allowance)

* Additional Pay of approximately £2,160.00 per annum based on 4 sleep ins per month at a rate of £45 per sleep in

Location:

* Dumfries & Galloway (Closeburn, Nr Thornhill / Lochamben, Nr Lockerbie)

Hours and Working Pattern:

* 39 hours a week

* 8:00 a.m. – 15:30 p.m. / 15:00 p.m. – 22:30 p.m. (Mon – Sun 5 out of 7)

Essential Criteria:

* A full driving licence

* The Right to Work in the UK

* Willing to work towards a paid for HNC in Social Care and an SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) – SCQF 7 (Level 3) or equivalent

Holistic Childcare and Education are recruiting Residential Childcare Workers to join our houses in Dumfries & Galloway – Closeburn (Nr Thornhill) and Lochmaben (Nr Lockerbie). Our homes provide specialist care for children & young people with autism, associated learning difficulties, and emotional and socially challenging behaviour. We are looking for committed, motivated staff with lots of energy who have a genuine interest in helping to make a difference – to provide vital help and care that can transform lives.

The Role

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will work directly with vulnerable children & young people who have complex needs and may exhibit challenging behaviour. Daily tasks involve providing them with the care, support, and opportunities they need to be happy, healthy and to make their way in the world.

You will work with our multi-disciplinary team to contribute to individual Quality of Life Plans and provide a balanced programme of personal development focusing on social skills, independence and community involvement enabling the children & young people to achieve their full potential. You will also be responsible for facilitating social activities to aid children and young people’s emotional and physical well-being, completing relevant paperwork, undertaking household tasks, personal care, and where appropriate administering medication.

Your empathy and warmth are just what is needed in this rewarding role, working as part of an incredible team committed to helping vulnerable children and young people feel safe and secure as they build the skills they need for life.

You will be friendly, patient, kind and considerate as you help them learn, making sure they are well looked after, giving them space to grow and thrive, playing your part in creating a nurturing environment in which they can fulfil their potential.

Great communication skills are essential, as you will be in close contact with the children and young people you care for daily. In this role, warm and welcoming smiles really do matter.
